Speaking
of metric conversion, do you have Bernina software installed and you notice
that some of your stitch measurements are in inches but others are in millimeters
and you wonder how to fix this? Bernina uses the operating system parameters
of your computer to setup it's measurements. When you setup your O/S you probably
told it that you were in the U.S. of A. and therefore needed inches as your
measurement standard. Bernina sees this and tries to insert inches into the
embroidery software. It isn't complete though and sometimes it shows metric
and inches mixed. There is NO way to completely get the software to show inches.
I recommend you change your measurement standard in your operating system to
metric so all of the Bernina settings will show metric results. This means
you may need a metric conversion table to help figure out just how large your
239 mm embroidery project is in inches, but you will not have to figure out
just how many millimeters 3/8 inch is.
Here
is how to change your measurement standard in your pc. Click on the start button,
then go into the control panel. Find the 'regional settings for
date, time and language'. With Windows XP click on the 'Regional Language Options'
link. This opens a dialog box with three tabs for Regions Options, Languages,
and Advanced. The 'Regional Options' tab should be open. The first line of
entry shows that you are setup for English (U.S.). Next to this line is a button
'Customize'. Click this button. This should open another dialog box with tabs
labeled Numbers, Currency, Time and Date. On the Numbers tab, if you look down
the list you will see 'measurement system' listed and it most likely says U.S.
Please change this to 'metric' and close all the boxes opened. Now when you
start the Bernina software it will read metric sizes through the whole solftware
package.
Metric
problems?
This
change has NOT affected a single program I've used in my pc since I made this
change and everything is showing the correct measuring system.
